Holistic Care Approach

Dr. Katherine Parét

Always looking to accomplish more, Dr. Parét wanted a dental office that provides high-quality dental care to patients. Studying a broad range of fields, she has integrated them into her work, providing personalized treatment plans for each patient.

Coming from a family of doctors, she was unsure whether the medical field would be a part of her future. However, after an accident involving her little sister knocking out the bottom half of her two front teeth, she discovered how rewarding dentistry could be.

After graduating from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2013, she completed her residency at the VA Medical Center in Charleston, SC, where she practiced weekly with oral surgeons and prosthodontists. There, she learned how to use a digital scanner and CEREC®. She also made a TAP appliance to help patients with obstructive sleep apnea.

Dr. Parét is always looking for ways to further her knowledge, which is why she has completed various continuing education courses focused on TMJ disorder, nutrition and diet, esthetic dentistry, oral surgery, laser dentistry, oral appliance therapy for obstructive sleep apnea, digital dentistry, dental implant restoration, and full arch dental implant treatment, and more.

She is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Maine Dental Association, SPEAR, and the AADSM.

In her free time, you’ll find her with friends and outdoors. She enjoys hiking, skiing, camping, kayaking, and is a Wilderness First Responder. She also guides a women’s group known as the Lady’s Adventure Club of Maine. She also volunteers on the Board of the South Portland Land Trust.

Dr. Thaleia Filokyprou

Originally from Athens, Greece, Dr. Thaleia has more than a decade of experience in dentistry. Choosing to become a dentist while in high school, she was inspired by the transformational work of her orthodontist. Combining hands-on work and healthcare, she pursued undergraduate dental training at the National and Kapodistrian University in Athens. She then completed advanced specialty training in prosthodontics at Texas A&M College of Dentistry. There, she focused on full mouth rehabilitations, cosmetic dentistry, and implant dentistry.

She also earned a master’s degree in oral biology before joining the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where she served as an assistant professor of prosthodontics. In this position, she mentored pre-doctoral and post-doctoral students.

Always looking to expand and refine her skills, she is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Prosthodontics, and the International Team of Implantology.

When she’s not in the office, you’ll find her spending time with her husband and their car. She enjoys spending time by the ocean and keeping in touch with most of her extended family in Greece.

Dr. Nikki Trone McCabe

Dr. Trone builds strong, honest relationships with her patients, ensuring they walk away with a better understanding of their overall health and well-being.

She started her dental career in 2014 as a dental and surgical assistant. After earning her DMD from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) at Tufts in Maine.

Since her time as a student, she has delivered essential care to underserved populations throughout Maine and served as a preceptor for the residency program where she trained.

Dr. Trone is a dentist who is actively involved in the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Maine Dental Association, and the Greater Portland Dental Association.

In addition to her role at our practice, she is a clinical professor at the University of New England College of Dental Medicine.

In her free time, she spends time with her dentist husband, Mike, and their daughter, Annie. They also have a dog, Harriet. She enjoys being outside, cooking, and being in her garden. Don’t be surprised to find her taking long walks, too!
