Dr. Paret’s approach to dental care is all about building connections—between dentistry and other healthcare practices as well as between herself and her patients. In addition to this, she has always strived to make Mind Your Mouth strongly connected with the community. That’s why she and our team are happy to take part in and sponsor a wide variety of events in and around South Portland. You can learn about our upcoming events below, and as you’ll see, you don’t need to be a patient to participate! Dr. Paret would love to meet you and hopes you enjoy the wide variety of activities highlighted on this page.

Self Love Self Defense Workshop https://hustleflowstudio.com

This valentine's day season, show yourself some love & join Mind Your Mouth for a powerful workshop all about empowerment and self defense.

Training is provided by PAC (Prevention.Action.Change.) PAC describes their teaching philosophy as Empowerment Self Defense (ESD) like this:

'?ESD offers training in assessment as well as verbal and physical prevention, intervention, response, and healing. Developed over the past 40 years with more than 100 current practitioners nationwide, Empowerment Self Defense training includes boundary setting, assertive communication and de-escalation, and goes beyond stranger attacks to expressly address violence by partners, acquaintances, and other known assailants. ESD increases awareness of the social context of violence experienced by women, children, the LGBTQ community, people of color, those with disabilities, and other groups, promoting both bystander intervention and community action for social change. ESD is trauma-informed and committed to ending victim-blaming and supporting healing for survivors of violence.'

This event is sponsored by Mind Your Mouth. The event location is sponsored by Hustle & Flow Studio. We suggest a donation of $25 to benefit Through These Doors- a domestic violence resource center servicing Southern Maine and beyond. Cash and checks are preferred for donation.

This event is open to anyone. Dress comfortably, and be ready to move. We will meet at Hustle and Flow Studio, located at 155 Brackett St, Portland, ME. Studio is on the third floor.

Space for this event is limited. Pre-registration is required.
